Cullinan Harbour, developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties, is a super-luxury new landmark rising in Hong Kong's Kai Tak runway area. For a project of this stature, Oolaa Smart Mirror was asked to do more than supply a standard part: our team researched and developed a dedicated smart solution for the development — a switch built around a custom voice chip — designed to fix, once and for all, the weakest point of the traditional wireless switch.
The problem with silent switches
A conventional wireless switch gives you nothing back. You tap it, and then you guess: did the command land? Is the circuit actually on, or off? In a small apartment that uncertainty is a minor annoyance. In a large luxury residence, with circuits and fittings spread across generous rooms, it becomes a daily friction — residents checking, re-tapping, and never quite trusting the control in their hand. The switch works, but the experience doesn't.
A switch that answers back
Oolaa's voice-chip solution closes that loop with sound. The moment a resident successfully switches power on or off, the system instantly calls out a clear "Power On" or "Power Off" confirmation. There is no ambiguity and no second look: the home tells you what it did, the instant it did it. Control becomes precise and reliable, because every action comes with proof.
It is a small detail with an outsized effect. Feedback is what separates a control you trust from a control you tolerate, and in a top-tier residence, that difference is felt every single day.
Smart home technology, fitted to a landmark
The voice-chip switch combines smart home and Internet of Things technology in a form that fits the intelligence and taste of a modern luxury home. It answers the pursuit, at the very top of Hong Kong's residential market, of technology and comfort without compromise: advanced, but effortless; connected, but calm.
The project also shows how Oolaa works with developers. With our own factory in Shenzhen and engineering in-house, we develop custom solutions for landmark projects rather than forcing a catalog product into a flagship brief. Cullinan Harbour's speaking switch is one example — a micro-interaction, engineered deliberately, for a home where every detail is expected to be right.
